Brethren, May has now come to a close, a month where the Fraternity recognizes the Masonic Youth Orders. Some members of our Lodge along with myself were privileged to attend the May meeting of the Los Angeles Masonic Service Bureau held at the Pasadena Scottish Rite building. We heard a youth leader from each of the three orders, Order of DeMolay, Rainbow for Girls, and Job's Daughters speak about what the Orders offer to our Youth as well as the current state of the Orders. These youth were articulate beyond their years and is a tribute to the opportunities offered and skills provided by our Youth Orders provide. I had established a goal of increasing the understanding the members of our Lodge have in the various Youth Orders by making available the opportunity to attend two events for each Order during the year. During the meeting I met a Mother Advisor of the Rainbow for Girls Citrus Assembly. They have graciously invited us to attend their upcoming Installation of Officers on Sunday June 13 and I ask you consider providing our support by attending. We also may have a youth member of our Wisdom Lodge family joining one of the Youth Orders later in this year. Should this occur, I ask that we support this youth in his entrance into one of our Fraternity's Youth Orders. I was also asked by the Bureau leadership if Wisdom Lodge would serve as the greeters at the next Masonic Service Bureau meeting on Sunday August 29. I gladly accepted this honor and will be seeking assistance from our Brethren. The August meeting is very informative as it relates to the management and administration of our Jurisdiction. Most Worshipful R Steven Doan will review the legislation for the upcoming Grand Lodge Annual Communication. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn more about this aspect of our Fraternity. This is the only meeting of the Los Angeles Masonic Bureau that is restricted to Masons since it discusses business matters of the Jurisdiction . Fraternally, Mark Berasley |
