Wisdom Lodge No. 202 F. & A.M.

Message From the Master

February 2010

Brethren,

February is upon us and is an important month as we celebrate the birthday of two of our early Presidents.  It is well known that Brother George Washington was a Mason and the first President of our great country.  What is probably not so well know is that he was also the Charter Master of Alexandria Lodge #22.  This lodge was previously known as Alexandria Lodge #39, originally charted under the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.  This charter was withdrawn and a new charter was received under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Virginia, making him not only our first President, but the first Master of this Lodge with a rich history as it gained the Charter it currently works under.

Along with the historical significance of February, it will be a busy month for Wisdom Lodge.  On Super Bowl Sunday we will participate with other Lodges in our District in a family pot luck in the dining room of the Pasadena Masonic Temple with the game on the big screen.  Bring your favorite dishes, share in the fellowship, and enjoy the game with us.  Of course the Sweethearts Brunch is also this month.  This year we will be having it at Castaways Restaurant in Burbank to honor our widows and other Lodge sweethearts.

And finally, I would like to invite you all, particularly our brethren who have lost touch with us, to attend our February special stated meeting/family dinner dubbed “Coming Home and Staying Connected” on February 3.  This is a program introduced by our Most Worshipful Kenneth Nagel to bring back members to the lodge.  This will be a special evening where there will be no charge for the dinner and there will be entertainment by Rush Robinson.  There will be wine and cheese beginning at 6PM with dinner starting at 6:45.  Please join us in bringing back the spirit of friendship, brotherly love and affection.  Together, we can make his vision a reality.

 Fraternally, Mark Berasley
