Wisdom Lodge No. 202 F. & A.M.

Message From the Master

August 2007

Brethren:
"Summer time, when the livin' is easy".  That's easy for me to say, I don't have to qualify.  Your Officers do and you can be proud at their tenacity in getting the work just so.  We are now embroiled in degree work to Initiate, Pass, and Raise our candidates while we perfect our ritual.    As did Caesar Augustus, should we steal
another day from February to give us more time?

I would like to steal something else:  A motto.  At the inauguration of the Governor of Massachusetts, there was, projected on a wall, "HISTORY, HOPE, WORK, FOCUS, ENGAGE".  Those members that read the Beehive will have noted that we have detailed the History of this Lodge; that I, as master, have expressed my Hope for the
resurgence of this lodge; and that one and all have noted the Work ethic of our Officers.  That leaves two things: "Focus" and "Engage".

If we Focus on what is necessary for success, a success based on an increased membership, increased participation in lodger attendance, increased encouragement of our wives to attend the various functions,

and an increased pool of men willing to serve the lodge as Officers, then my brothers we will have Engage the future.

I recently read, "Meet every adverse circumstance as its master".
I, You, We are doing so.

David R. Patterson, Master
